Noer the Boy is part of the vanguard of bass music, a composer wielding punishing distortion and avant-garde composition. From his background in marching band, choir, and video editing grew a fascination with kinetic beats, industrial sounds, and the unrestricted freedom of computer creation. Cutting his teeth with tastemaker crews Courteous Family and Liquid Amber, Noer has released on such diverse labels as VISION, Subsidia, and Mass Appeal Records. Noer teamed up with DJ Shadow to co-produce "Horror Show" featuring Danny Brown and tour Europe following the release of his debut album "Mechanism". His boundary-pushing style has gained attention from the likes of Noisia, G Jones, Eprom, Machinedrum, Ivy Lab - and most recently Rezz. In 2024, Noer joined her label HypnoVizion to release his “Mr. Gibbons EP”. This year has seen him join forces with UK producer Hypho to collaborate on numerous tracks. Forthcoming work includes a collaborative EP with Hypho and PAV4N (Foreign Beggars) and another EP slated for late 2024/early 2025. As a teacher, Noer the Boy is well-regarded for his ability to demystify abstract concepts and connect to artists of all skill levels. Since 2018, he has helped hundreds of producers level up their sound design and songwriting abilities through lessons, workshops, and educational content on Patreon. Amassing a kaleidoscopic following across genre lines, Noer the Boy is set to define the shape of bass to come.
