Sophya Baccini is an Italian lead singer and songwriter. Daughter of a tenor, she started studied piano at 5, and attended courses in opera and classic rock and blues. She founded Presence, group of Metal Progressive very dark oriented. Published with them 8 studio album and a live one for Genoese label Black Widow. Included in the list of the best female voices in the world, she collaborated, live and in studio, with the Historic Italian prog bands Osanna and Delirium. In 2009 she published her first solo album "Aradia", which earned the Jury special price of the prestigious Prog Awards, unanimously awarded for the first time, and for the first time awarded to a female artist. The Swedish national radio devotes to her an entire program focused on female composers, hosted by journalist Patrik Stigsson. In 2013, she presents her 2nd solo album, Big Red Dragon, dedicated to the painting works of William Blake. With a luxury vinyl edition sold out in a few weeks, it becomes record of the year for most of best magazines, print and on line. She goes live with her group “Sophya Baccini’s Aradia”, an all-female-band, with Presence, and as special guest for various artists and as soloist with her piano. In January 2023 she published ANIMATESI, a solo piano and voice record. She’s about to publish a new album with Sophya Baccini’s Aradia and she’s involved in a project PRESENCE PLAY YES dedicated to the British prog band, and with LIONHEARTS in a tribute to KATE BUSH.
