Petter Hillström is part sound engineer, part music producer a part well-known horticultural consultant who rocks the world of urban trees and other greens. Petter grew up in the north of Sweden (a town by the sea called Hudiksvall) but has been living In Stockholm for 20 years. He invented the moniker Hillström & Billy in 2008 as a way to start of a solo endeavor without having it sound like it. It’s always been a very collaborative and fluid project that has changed both in style, participants and size over the years. This is the 9th album released under Hillström & Billy and was created with a very firm set of rules: • One song. One evening. When the evening was over the song needed to be done. • Two acoustic guitars recorded first, at the same time. • They weren't allowed to be retracted or changed later. They should be in the center! • No bass allowed. • No electric guitars allowed except for a baritone. • Two synthesizers and one string machine was allowed. • A National Triolian guitar from the 1930s need to be on every track. • One extra pedal or gadget was allowed per song. • The song was then sent to Sean Lane over in the US to add drums or rhythms overnight.
