Lenna Bahule is a singer, art educator, and cultural activist from Mozambique. She is known for her vocal range and rhythmic sounds, which blend traditional Indigenous sounds with contemporary sounds from Mozambique and other Afro cultures. Her transcendental and captivating musical style is characterised by using organic materials to produce sound, singing in different African and imaginary languages, and immersive body-mind-soul experiences. The seven years spent in Brazil working with various artists and projects, immersed in research and exploring innovative ways of using the voice and body for artistic expression, have made Lenna Bahule the unique musician she is today. She has collaborated with musicians from all over the world, including renowned artists such as Varijashree Venugopal (India), Virginia Rodrigues, Kastrup, Mateus Aleluia, Luedji Luna (Brazil), Mû Mbana (Guinea-Bissau), Paulo Flores (Angola) and Stewart Sukuma (Mozambique). He has performed at Sofar Sounds in São Paulo and international festivals like the Luju Festival in Eswatini. In June 2024, she released her new EP, "Kwisa," via the London-based Da Lata Music label. It is the first of three EPs to make up her upcoming album, Kumlango.
