Composer and saxophonist, Tom Bourgeois is a graduate at the ENM School in Villeurbanne (France) and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (jazz section). Influenced by the composition lessons of Diederik Wissels, he developed a language oscillating between modern jazz and techniques from contemporary music. Attracted by the intersection of disciplines, he composes for the cinema, the theater as well as for the radio. Active as a musician, Tom Bourgeois plays and composes for projects with very different styles: jazz, song, experimental, large ensembles, which allows him to play abroad, especially in Asia (China, Taiwan, South Korea) or in Europe (Hungary, Italy, Scotland, Germany, France...). In 2016, he created the group "Murmures", an acoustic quartet with an original formation. The repertoire oscillates between personal compositions and arrangements by Maurice Ravel. The double album was released in 2018 under the German label Neuklang. In 2019, the band recorded a live vinyl at the famous Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg, Germany. In 2021, he enriches his quartet “Murmures” with a formation of 11 musicians and invites the singer Veronika Harcsa to his new program.
