Nicolás Vera (1980) guitarist and composer, has been part of the Chilean jazz scene for more than 20 years. He has published 8 albums as a soloist and has collaborated with musicians such as Melissa Aldana, Félix Lecaros, Pablo Menares, André Sumelius, Jure Pukl, Christian Gálvez, in over 20 albums during his career. He has played and toured with Leo Genovese, Francisco Mela, Mikko Innanen, Greg Osby, Aaron Parks, Drew Gress, Gabriel Puentes, Glenn Zaleski, to name a few. Bachelor of Music, he studied classical guitar with Professor Romilio Orellana and studied in New York with guitarists Peter Bernstein and Ben Monder. Founder of the record label Discos Pendiente, label that has contributed in establishing an important platform for jazz through an original catalogue of albums and the celebration of different jazz festivals with national and international musicians; he is also part of the creative team of the label Aconcagua Records along with Gonzalo (Chalo) González and Christian Hirth. His most recent projects are the albums 'Mitos del Sur' with musician Leo Genovese and 'La Rueda del Tiempo' with bassist Pablo Menares and drummer Félix Lecaros, recorded in NY in 2016, projects that led him to be nominated for the Pulsar Awards 2018 in the category Best Instrumentalist. He is also one of the creators of the Jazz Duit festival (2012-2014) and currently produces jazz festivals of the Thelonious Jazz Club Santiago: Thelonious Chile and Thelonious Connection.
