Biography

Born Tshegetso Reabetswe Kungwane, The Big Hash is a South African rapper, singer & songwriter. After his debut EP, "DEVO", he dropped out of school to focus on his music career; subsequently releasing "The Big Hash Theory" and "Life & Times of a Teenage Influence", in 2017 and 2018 respectively. In 2019, he made his full length debut with the release of "Young", which garnered nominations at the South African Hip-Hop Awards (SAHHA) & All African Music Awards (AFRIMA). In the same year, Hash became a global ambassador for international sports brand, Adidas; becoming the youngest musician in South Africa to do so. 2019 also saw him take part in BET’s Hip-Hop Cyphers which led to Sway Calloway selecting him to freestyle at the #ColdCyphers at the 2019 Castle Lite Unlocks concert, sharing a stage with names like Post Malone & Meek Mill. His collaborations include acts like Kaash Paige, AKA, A-Reece, Riky Rick, Nasty C, ANATII, Kwesta & Emtee among others, with co-signs ranging from Summer Walker to Tems. 2021 saw his reintroduction to the industry as an independent artist to operate under his own record label, DEVO MUSIC GROUP. His music was featured in Netflix’s Blood & Water Season 2, when “High School” & “I’m Sorry” were chosen for the hit series soundtrack, and in addition, "High Level" to FIFA 2023. In 2022, he released his debut album, "Better Late Than Never", featuring Blxckie, FLVME, Lucasraps & Gwen Bunn, marking his first independent #1 album on Apple Music.
