Producer, songwriter, and bilingual rapper Magic Juan was born in Washington Heights, New York City and raised in Teaneck, NJ. To Dominican Parants. He is revered as one of the pioneers of Urban Latin music. At the age of ten he joined the school choir and started taking piano, guitar, and drum lessons. After winning rap battles and talent contests throughout the NYC and NJ., Juan would spend his days after school recording, writing songs, rapping, and sampling. He later help form Proyecto Uno -- a merengue band with heavy urban and hip-hop influences. His bilingual rapping was featured on the 1991 cut "Brinca," a single that went to number one in over eight countries in South America. Proyecto Uno went on to sell over Five million albums worldwide. Magic’s frontman appeal, songwriting and producing helped the group to spawn global hits create a musical sub genre “Urban Latino”. “Esta Pegao” , “El Grillero” “Another Night”, the Erick Morillo produced anthem “Latinos” and the MegaSmash “El Tiburón” (Voted one of the top Latin hits ever by Rolling Stone). In 2002 - he began to release solo albums cranking out new hits “Meneando la Pera”, “La Última Vez” feat Eddy Herrera “Mil Horas” , “Baby come back”, “Paralizado”, and “Todo eso e tuyo” feat Doug E Fresh. He has uniquely maneuvered through different musical genres, making him one of the most versatile Latin artist in the game.
