n his hometown Tallinn, Estonia, Bert Prikenfeld has been a household name since the mid 1990s. Starting his career more than 25 years ago as DJ Critikal, Bert soon became Estonia´s Nr.1 hip hop DJ, playing various club shows and starting to produce. Around 2010 the new project Bert On Beats was born that firstly focused on early dubstep and the wave of new, „ghetto“ genres like Kuduro or the Rio Baile Funk. During that period Bert On Beats remixed artists such as Vybz Kartel, Buraka Som Sistema, Rudimental or Gotan Project. His global bass tracks have were played by DJs such as Diplo, Annie Mac, Toddla T, Burns, FatBoySlim, Sinden, Brodinski, Feadz and Foamo amongst others. In 2018 Bert On Beats started to invade the territories of darker Techno and Cinematic soundscapes. Since then Bert has released 4 albums TEN, NINE, EIGHT and SEVEN browsing these darker sonic corners of dance music. Bert On Beats album TEN won the best Electronic Album of the year in Estonian Music Awards 2020 and rest of the numeric albums have been nominated 3 years in a row in the same category. Bert has won 4 times Best Producer Of The Year award and 3 times Best Mixing/Mastering Engineer award at Estonian Music Industry Awards. Bert is also teaching students at University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy from 2018.
