Biography

Draped in vulnerable lyrics and obsessive hooks, Philly’s Church Girls play indie punk rooted in angsty optimism and bittersweet joy that’s been acclaimed by Alternative Press, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, KEXP, & more. After a run opening for Streetlight Manifesto and touring to FEST in Gainesville, Church Girls went into the studio to work on their forthcoming EP Nightmare Nights, out October 5th. Their new single of the same title “Nightmare Nights” (out Sep 7 and mixed by Adam Cichocki (Soul Blind, Short Fictions)) is cathartic and catchy with swirling guitars and gang vocals. “‘Nightmare Nights’ is about feeling jerked around in a relationship, especially when you’re too young to stand up for yourself,” vocalist Mariel Beaumont explains. “Our guitarist Mitchell wrote the instrumental demo a while back and we’ve always loved it, so we decided to dig into it for this EP. We’re thrilled to work with Adam Cichocki, who really gave these songs the power we’ve been looking for.”
