Dunisani Ian Tlhabani, known professionally as Ian Reigns is a prominent South African rapper and songwriter from Malamulele, Limpopo. In 2006 at the age of 10 he began his musical journey inspired by Lil Wayne then later gained inspiration from Drake. This is evident in his catchy melodic choruses combined with witty wordplay and punchlines. He has since had his songs playlisted on Bush Radio, Tshwane FM, Energy FM, Choice FM, Cosmo FM (where he topped the HIP hop charts for 3 weeks) and Capricorn FM. He also worked with Ms. Kulie on a song called ‘Juice’ which charted on multiple radio stations leading to a LIMA (Limpopo Music Awards) nomination carving his mark in the Limpopo music scene and now lighting up the Pretoria scene. The highlight of his performances was when he was the closing act at the Sundowns trophy rally in 2016 at TUT Main Campus which featured acts like AKA, A-Reece, E-mtee, Benchmarq, Kwesta, Dr. Malinga, TLT & Lady Zamar. His recent performances have been in Blue Room Hatfield, The Knight Show (in Sandton), Lavianto (As the headline act), Mthubi The Art Hub & Liberty inn & 442 sports bar (opening for acts such as A-reece, Frank Casino, Major League Djs,etc as a resident artist at 442 sports bar) as part of a Music Video Tour for a song called ‘Change Teams’ which has over 9400 views on YouTube and got playlisted on Mtv Base. Ian Reigns was also part of a show on MTVBase called ‘New Wave’ which covers the top influential artists on the internet.
