Hailing from Richmond, VA, the list of top tier talent to reach global success is slim. Yet for Skinnyy Hendrixx it seems predestined because of his dually equipped mastery of production and rhyming. Being raised around music from the time he could walk, Skinnyy was able to fall in love with the various instruments and vocal ranges that came from 70s and 80s funk music, 90s R&B, and even church hymnals. By the time he was in 7th grade he took a strong liking to percussion, where he became proficient in building his chops slowly but surely. With all the practice he put in, by the time he was in 12th grade, he was the #1 ranked percussionist in all of Henrico County and the #4 ranked percussionist in the entire region! The fascination of music production didn’t hit him until he was a freshman at Virginia State University where he wrote his very first rap. After dropping out and moving onto a local community college, he received his first official refund check and after that it was history. Fast forward 10 years and he has already opened up for the likes of Dave East, Stalley, and even WESTSIDE BOOGIE; on top of that his production has completely elevated in ways that only 10,000 hours or more of practice can speak for. Landing his first big feature in the winter of 2022, the track “Villain Slide” featuring WESTSIDE BOOGIE is guaranteed to put the hard working Emcee/Producer in a category of his own.
