Check out my YouTube channel /thedaveellis Dave was born in Balham, South London. Aged three, due to his parents’ separation, he moved to Nottingham with his mum & brother. As the youngest member of the family he was known as the family entertainer, who wasn’t shy to pick up the microphone or Breakdance at any special occasion. In 1983 his mother remarried, and later the family emigrated to Jamaica. When in Jamaica Dave & his stepfather experienced an armed robbery, two masked gunmen broke into their home & demanded money. Aged 14 David was terrified by this ordeal & thanks God daily for the life he almost lost. Dave returned to the UK in 1999 to attend college and for a brief time he was involved with UK R&B groups “Coincide” & “Dove”. At this time one of Dave’s friends became a born again Christian - intrigued by his dramatic conversion & the impact it had on his lifestyle, Dave soon followed and made his own commitment to follow Christ. Dave enjoyed a successful solo ministry in the UK Gospel scene as 'The Prodigal Son (UK)'. After a myriad of challenging life experiences and a break from the music scene, Dave has now found a new confidence to be himself, namely, 'the | Dave Ellis' God intended him to be. He is now a pastor, compassion advocate, preacher & rap artist. He is married with four children and lives in Nottingham, UK. Dave longs to see the cycle of injustice and oppression in society broken and for people from all walks of life to experience freedom.
