Yates, born July 21, 1991 from Chicago, IL, has been writing and recording music for the past 10+ years. Starting off as a hobby for the love of music, being a fan of Kanye West, Twista, Jay Z, and Three Six Mafia just to name a few, he later developed a passion for the art of creating music and decided to make it a career. Since then he has written, recorded, but not released a plethora of material, getting his feet wet in beat making as well. His debut mixtape was released back in September of 2015 titled "Blak Attire" downloadable on datpiff. Following the release of "Blak Attire" Yates has since released three other bodies of work (Who Is Yates?, Blak Attire 2, and Project Eck$). Since various mixtapes, singles, and music videos have been released, Yates has been afforded the opportunities to open shows for main stream artist such as Rick Ross, R. Kelly, and King Louie. Yates has traveled to many other states working with different artist and producers with the motive of continuing to push his music and love for the craft.
