Daniel Burwasser, born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, is an American composer, percussionist, and teacher. Critics have praised Daniel Burwasser's music as highly communicative, emotionally charged, actively engaging, refreshingly lyrical, and displaying a fine sense of balance and proportion. His works have been performed throughout the United States as well as in South Korea, Armenia, Slovakia, and Russia. His recordings can be heard here on Spotify and include "Flux" for strings, "Catching Fireflies" for orchestra, "Puck's Game "for string quartet, "Whirlwind" for woodwind quintet and "A Well Traveled Road" for orchestra. Recent commissions include "Breaking and Entering" for Mark Ortwein, "Kaleidoscope" for Elizabeth Knott, and "False Awakening" for the Kalliope Reed Quintet . Burwasser's first solo recording on Navona Records, "Flights of Imagination" was released on April 14, 2023. This album features all of his Navona releases plus the brilliant orchestral work, "A Well-Traveled Road" .
