Biography

Solizantana is a Colombian-born singer, songwriter, producer, and creative director known for blending contemporary R&B, Hip Hop, and Latin influences. Raised in Medellín, Toronto, and the U.S., her music reflects her diverse cultural background, seamlessly integrating English and Spanish in her lyrics. Thanks to her father’s love for artists like Celia Cruz and Héctor Lavoe, Solizantana was immersed in the world of Latin Jazz and Salsa since she was a baby, which was further enriched by her brother’s introduction to Hip Hop, R&B, and Reggaeton. By five years old, she was captivated by icons like The Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Tupac, 50 Cent, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, Kanye West, Lil Kim, Kid Cudi, Erykah Badu and many more. This eclectic mix of influences shaped her unique sound—a fusion of Soul, Hip Hop, and Blues, with a Jazz-inspired vocal delivery. After dropping out of college in Toronto, Solizantana returned to Medellín, where she continues to develop her artistic identity. She expresses her emotions and visions through music, art, film, and dance, constantly seeking to innovate.
