The now Derby-based artist confirmed that ‘Legrand’ comes from the Old French word "grand," which in turn comes from the Latin "grandis," meaning "large" or "tall." Legrand PaPii whose real name is Nabab (Nawab, name for an Indian Viceroy) believes, as mentioned; picking Legrand as my go to artist name was only right because it simply reminds me that I’m bigger than what the world may try to fit me in and as for ‘PaPii’, we may as well big up Drake.
