Andrew Finn Magill is a multi-genre fiddler/violinist, composer, and Ropeadope Recording artist that has been featured on NPR, MTV-U, and Avianca in-flight entertainment. He received a Fulbright Fellowship in 2009 which he used to produce "Mau a Malawi: Stories of AIDS" with Peter Mawanga and the Amaravi Movement and in 2019 was awarded a North Carolina Arts Council grant for jazz composition. Magill has worked with Rising Appalachia, John Doyle, Open the Door for Three, The Paul McKenna Band and others and has performed at hundreds of venues including Celtic Connections (Glasgow, UK), Olympia Hall in Paris, France, and DisneyWorld. He tours regularly with Dave Curley, Alan Murray (Colin Farrell Band), Canta, Violino!, Brazilian Strings Trio, and as a guest musician with dozens of others. In 2014 Finn moved to Rio de Janeiro to study Brazilian choro music and has gone on to co-found Brazilian Strings Trio with American violinist Ted Falcon and Brazilian guitarist Nando Duarte as well as Canta, Violino! a Brazilian jazz fusion project released on Ropeadope Records in 2018.
