Biography

LaMorris Williams is the son of Leonard Williams, an original member of the Grammy-nominated Gospel group “The Williams Brothers” of Smithdale, Mississippi. LaMorris was a musical prodigy, playing drums and singing background on professional projects before he was ten years old. While still in his teens, he logged studio sessions, shared the stage, and produced for Al Green, Eddie Kendricks, Bobbie Jones, Dave Hollister, Toni Braxton, Tiny From Xscape, Bobby Rush, The Five Blind Boys, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, and various other national recording artist. Towards the end of the 90's, LaMorris decided to focus on the rising genre of southern soul. He began writing his own songs, arranging, producing and self-publishing. LaMorris Williams' breakthrough single, “Impala” was released in 2009 and quickly spread throughout the southern states becoming a fixture of Southern Soul radio in 2010. LaMorris’s second southern soul album entitled “Sexy Soul Songs” featured the smash hit single “Pretty Lady” which continues to top charts today. Furthermore, the album “Ladies 1st” released in March of 2012, with the hit single "You Make Me Happy" featuring Al Green, was gaining popularity. Moreover, Lamorris continues to captivate listeners with soulful R&B southern soul classics. His most recent hit single “Too Late” off of his now eight album, continues to climb on music charts and all streaming platforms.
