The Finestkind brings the low tide funk to Evergreen roots, soulful music resonating out of the rocky coast of Maine. Launched in 2023 at a residency at Portland House of Music, the band debuted with a marathon variety show, backing nine artists over four weeks, including Lyle Divinsky, Kenya Hall, spencer albee and Connor Garvey. For the artists performing with the band, “It’s like driving a Ferrari” says Albee. For the audience, it's an invitation to experience the breadth of talent coming out of Maine. Though they may not know the individual artists or performers, they always know that when The Fineskind comes to town, they'll be in for a treat. "The Break" is the debut single from the band itself. This cinematic opening shot hits hard then finds it's groove with layers of vintage keys and sultry horns. Get ready for more from The Finestkind.
