The Ghetto Sixteen, known locally and beloved for its unique origin story in Noida, India, plays a pivotal role in revitalizing the artistic aspirations of the city. What started as a symbol on license plates has grown into a boutique label deeply inspired by Noida's essence. Yushman the driving force behind Ghetto Sixteen, has a mission to challenge Noida's stereotype as a crime capital. Yushman's passion lies in uncovering Noida's hidden gems, leaving a lasting legacy to celebrate. In the summer of 2018, G16 discovered two promising young artists, Boyblanck and Scoolboypax, who quickly became part of the family. Boyblanck's debut single "Metro Ride" dropped in July '19, followed by "Ted Bundy" and the highly anticipated "Southside Clout [Delhi]" featuring all three. 2019 marked the rise of indie music in Noida as G16 nurtured fresh talent, including Karm Solah, who later signed with Represent Media alongside renowned artists like Armaan Malik, Ritviz, and Zaeden. G16 proudly introduced Bombay the Artist as their first female act in 2020, who, after a brief bootcamp, signed with Sony Music Worldwide. In 2021, the unique 'DesiHyper' sound, a sub-genre within hip-hop, gained prominence with J1SIX adding to the sonic landscape. For Ghetto Sixteen, this isn't just a label; it's a way of life—a testament to their dedication to elevating Noida's artistic scene and leaving an indelible mark on the world music.
