Brooklyn Born and raised and deeply rooted in Jamaican culture, Rev comes to the table with music that range from love songs to conscious music that confronts the social issues that faces the world today. Revelashan began his musical journey at the age of 8. By 9 years old, he was the keyboardist of the church his family attended. Rev’s mother was the Praise & Worship leader. “It was seeing my mother perform in church so soulfully and seeing my father (Natty Remo f.k.a Capt. Remo) perform on stage shows so skillfully that made me realize that I also had this in me, to go out and deliver my messages through music” At the age of 15, Rev met his cousin Clifton and they created a bond that would grow unbreakable. Cliff would go on to produce many songs for Rev under his Headtracks Ent Label and Rev would become the main artist on Headtracks. Rev’s musical influences include an impressive roster of artist such as Garnett Silk, Bob Marley, Natty Remo, Screechy Dan, Vybz Kartel, Smokey Robinson and Tupac to name a few. Revs’ sound has been described as a fusion of reggae, dance hall, hip hop and soul.
