Biography

“Jen Miller’s music sounds like if Janis Joplin was an Appalachian witch.” Spoiler alert: she’s not a witch. …Or is she? With Appalachian roots and folk rock in her blood, she's a testament to the enduring power of folk music in the modern era, with her music being played over 40,000,000 times. Jen Miller is set to release her highly-anticipated folk album, "Smoky Mountain Special" on 11/22/23. With its powerful storytelling and banjo-infused melodies, the album fearlessly explores the unspoken truths of toxic relationships, family struggles, trauma, and self-discovery as a queer person. Drawing inspiration from folk music's golden era and infusing it with contemporary elements, the album presents a fresh take on a classic genre, and includes features from three Nashville-based artists: Elijah Dax, Adam Mac, and Dēdo. As a member of the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs), she’s left her mark in the studio, shaping the sounds of artists like Adam Mac, Harper Grae, Jenna DeVries, Nina Lee, Mannywellz, and more. Now living as a full-time record producer in Nashville, Jen Miller’s unique music journey started at the age of 18 when she hit the road with a folk band, igniting what she self describes as an, “uncontrollable obsession with music.” Since then, she’s shared the stage with artists like Twenty One Pilots, Ed Sheeran, Passenger, Fulton Lee, Young the Giant, and more.
