BAGGY GRL is the solo project of producer, composer and vocalist Yaz Owainati. From her studio in Los Angeles, Owainati records, writes, and produces in a variety of styles ranging from pop, dance and rap to alternative, indie and punk. The daughter of first generation immigrants, her heritage is half-Palestinian and half-Iraqi. Though born in Boston, MA, she spent the majority of her childhood in the suburbs of Vienna, Austria, before returning to the US to live in New York and then Los Angeles, where she released her first solo project ‘demands and occult science’ in June of 2023.
