Biography

Brian Adam McCune Molano (b. 1983) is a Colombian-American composer based in Oakland, California. He is a graduate of Mannes College The New School for Music, receiving a Master's degree in Music Composition. At Mannes, he studied primarily with Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Paul Moravec. In his time in New York, he studied regularly with Keith Fitch, and also benefited from lessons with Jennifer Higdon and Christopher Theofanidis. Mr. McCune received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007 with concentrations both in percussion performance and jazz studies. Mr. McCune is a founding member the Awesöme Orchestra Collective, serving as a percussionist, arranger, and resident guest conductor. He was chosen as the guest music director for UnderCover Presents' 2016 show, a tribute to Green Day's Dookie at the Fox Theater in Oakland. In 2015, Mr. McCune collaborated with Casey Crescenzo of The Dear Hunter, serving as music editor and providing additional orchestrations for Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise and Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional. Since November of 2010, Mr. McCune has lived primarily in the world of video game development, playing a key role in Ubisoft's Rocksmith franchise. In February of 2012, he took over the managerial role for the team of musicians who transcribe (and level) all of the licensed music in the game.
