Previously known as ‘Darnell’, Darnell Wilson has built the foundation for a successful career being discovered as the guy who’s about to blow up. He began releasing music in early 2016 and has since worked his way up the ranks featuring on songs with some of New Zealand's heavy hitters in the music industry. The most recognisable being New Zealand’s biggest remix, under his previous artist name ‘Darnell’, the ‘Elevate (Super Remix)’ which was also virally known as the #8BallChallenge released in 2017. DW has opened for numerous international artists such as Jacquees, G-Eazy, Jhene Aiko, Bow Wow and Sean Kingston to name a few. While also supporting local artists such as Smashproof, Pieter T, Donell Lewis, Mikey Mayz and many more. He has toured New Zealand as 1 of 2 headlining acts for the U18 ProFresh Music Festival in 2016 and headlined his own tour, the ‘Light It Up New Zealand Tour’, in early 2019 which saw major success across the nation. His latest release ‘Stay On My Body’ is a collaborative works with 2015 X-Factor winner Beau Monga and 2013 New Zealand’s Got Talent contestant Richie Cattell. With his debut project planned for 2019 DW is looking to have an amazing year which will only but be the foundation for future success in many years to come and with a co-sign from Hit Up Ange saying he has an “Incredible voice”, Darnell Wilson is the future of New Zealand R&B and possibly R&B Worldwide.
