Biography

Tellef Øgrim is a Norwegian guitarist and composer working in jazz, rock, ambient noir and free improvisation. He played with Ung Pike Forsvunnet, Duck Spin, and Libidos' in the 1980ties went on to write theatre music, before releasing a CD with improvisations for fretless electric guitar, titled Some dodos never die in 2004. Wagon 8 was released on Curling Legs Records with Polish drummer Jacek Kochan, trombonist Dag Einar Eilertsen, Henrik Hellstenius (laptop) and singer Anne Danielsen in 2007. His solo work comprises several releases. The first was the mentioned Some dodos never die. His fifth solo album is called Sunday's in Love, released by Simlas produksjoner in 2022. In 2008, Øgrim played on the free jazz CD Do I the In? (Not Two Records) with Joe Fonda (bs), Jacek Kochan (dr) and Franz Hautzinger (trp). In 2010, he formed the audio-visual project Mugetuft with Peter Knudsen, later expanded with Henrik Hellstenius, and Jakop Janssønn. An impro trio with cello player Clementine Gasser and Jacek Kochan came together in Vienna in 2009 to record What's Wrong With Now?What's Wrong With Now for Not Two Records (released in 2011). His duo cooperation with Swedish bass player Anders Berg started with the album November and continued with KUME, and KÖLEN. January 13, 2017, Anders and Tellef teamed up with veteran drummer Peeter Uuskyla to put out the trio studio album Ullr and later the same year the live recording Laiv.
