Born in South Central LA, given name, Jesse H. Mijangos was not the average kid. His love for music helped him escape from the rough streets of Watts, and the dysfunctional chaos of his home. At the age of 13, Swift started writing poetry, and reading books of such poets as Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, E.E. Cummings and a few inserts here and there. He was inspired by his father, who left him at the age of 2, who was a discjockey in his prime and his older brother who followed suit.
