Biography

Half DFXO + half Plague = One XL Xeno started out in '89, writing and performing amongst friends in Folkestone before moving to London in '95, recording his first single for his own fledgling label Blood From Stone in '96. He formed a short-lived crew called Critical Mass the same year, before finally meeting Defisis and forming DFXO (DeFisis and XenO), at first recording with Mr Serve, before moving on with his own beats/production, releasing mixtapes, and then a (still unreleased) album with DJ Serious in Belgium. By 2001 they had joined the ranks of SFDB Records to release their first album Kill Ya Wiv a Demo, a selection of 6 tracks from their previous mixtape output. Defisis and Xeno featured on SFDB as DFXO on singles For Goodness Sakes, and the (unofficial) Hostyle MIA, then again as solo artists on the album Secondson & His Orchestra produced by Secondson, but no further DFXO material materialised. Defisis' final outing on SFDB was It's Like That while Xeno teamed up with Secondson to record their first self-titled album as Plague. Officially retired since 2007, Xeno returned to recording only in 2017 on a second Plague album called Where's the World Gone?, breaking a 10 year hiatus. Since then he has featured on Kasha Rae's single We Don't Play (The Cypher) and made an appearance on The Enjinz album Incredible Scenes Here!!! (Vengeance Spirits). XOLO is his first release since '96, and was recorded during lockdown in 2020. More info at bloodfromstone.com
