“…ASSURED, BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED, AMERICAN FOLK.” – FOLK RADIO UK “… AN AMERICANA PACKAGE OF FOLK, BLUES AND COUNTRY… ‘THINGS THAT NURTURE’ – FRIENDS, FAMILY, NATURE AND WOMEN” - FOLKING.COM Lucia Comnes is an independent American singer, songwriter, fiddler and guitarist with a ‘singular voice’ (SF Chronicle) whose roots music crosses genres of Indie, Folk, Pop, Americana, Irish, Bluegrass & World. She writes powerful melodies with forceful, earthy lyrics that reflect her connection to the elements. Her music is known to heal broken hearts. Her ability to seamlessly blend different styles results in music that draws from the past but is refreshingly contemporary. Lucia’s fiddling is a powerful and emotional expression of her musical vision – a vision that demonstrates that she isn’t afraid to take chances. Her voice, crystal clear but with a hint of mystery, was described by the San Francisco Chronicle as “singular… embedded with soul and spirit.” Born and raised in San Francisco, California, she splits her time between the West Coast and Europe, mainly Italy. Her song, 'No Hiding Place', was recognized by the Dallas Songwriters Association in 2014 as Best Song of the Year and First Place in the Americana category. Lucia has accompanied Joan Baez in concert, performed at the Biennale of Venice, Italy, opened for Paul Brady, and collaborates with Liam Ó Maonlaí (Hothouse Flowers), Séamus Begley, Tim Grimm and modern dance pioneer, Anna Halprin. http://www.luciacomnes.com
