Mariola MEMBRIVES Considered one of the most innovative and transgressive voices of her generation, Mariola Membrives has stood out in the Spanish music scene for her unique ability to blend flamenco, jazz, and root music, offering a fresh artistic proposal with a deep personal identity. She made her record debut with "Llorona", in collaboration with the Japanese double bassist Masa Kamaguchi, a work that was warmly received by both the public and critics, and subsequently solidified her position in the music scene with “Lorca Spanish Songs", in a duo with the renowned New York guitarist Marc Ribot. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, she created her third album, an introspective exploration with the Babylonian civilization as a leitmotif. This work was considered by critics as one of the best independent records of the year in Spain. Her career is not limited to music, but also encompasses theater and teaching, collaborating with major productions (La Fura dels Baus, Federico García by Pep Tosar, Giosymphonie, Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra…) and educating future generations in prestigious institutions. Mariola has been recognized for her artistic career with awards such as the Time Out award for “Best National Creator”, among others. With a solid academic background and a career that transcends borders, Mariola Membrives is emerging as an indispensable artist in the contemporary cultural landscape.
