Vilnius Municipal Choir Jauna Muzika is one of the most prominent and capable vocal groups in Lithuania. Founded in 1989, it has been led by conductor and composer Vaclovas Augustinas since 1992. Jauna Muzika’s mission is to offer to the listener a highly diverse and valuable repertoire of choral music, professionally perform it, as well as represent the most enchanting choral works by Lithuanian composers to the world. Jauna muzika is an active choir, performing more than 30 concerts each year abroad and in its home country. Thanks to its professional excellence, Jauna Muzika has earned global recognition. The choir consistently participates in international festivals, collaborates with a band Merope, works with famous conductors, professional ensembles and orchestras from all over the world, initiates various projects, courses of music interpretation and conducting, and competitions of choral music for young composers ‘Vox Juventutis’.
