Recording artist and producer from the woods. Jackson Whalan was born and raised in Berkshire County, on the western edge of Massachusetts. There were very few examples of hip-hop artists from his rural hometown, but the music made its way into his life when he found CDs that belonged to his older brother. Inspired at age 11 by The Score by The Fugees, Illmatic by Nas, and other late 90s hip-hop, he forged a path not previously traveled by anyone from The Berkshires. After releasing his album From the Woods in January 2021, Jackson featured the legendary emcee KRS-One on the remix to the title track. Following his collaboration with KRS-One, he went on to release singles including “No”, “Still Different”, and “Thought Pollution” featuring emcees Just Juice, Lateb, and Rittz, as commissioned by Ryan Mills Presents. He recently produced the beat for “Think Bigger”, a song on KRS-One’s 24th album, co-produced with Elan Morrison. Jackson currently resides in The Berkshires, MA where he creates music in his studio between shows. There’s always new music coming out, whether it be a single, a collab, an album, or a beat tape. Stay on the lookout for tour dates where he performs in a variety of formats, from solo to live band.
