Biography

Cassius Antonio Cruz (born January 18th, 1999) is an American recording artist, songwriter and producer. Born at the turn of the millennium to Jamaican parents in Brooklyn, New York, Cruz was a performing arts student when he began recording rhymes on Garageband and releasing them to SoundCloud in 2012 as "Sixtin Bars". While coming of age in Manhattan's Lower East Side, Cruz would release six mixtapes until dropping the moniker and resurfacing in 2017 with the tropical self-produced "Azúcar".
The EP featured rattling, experimental tracks like "I Get Lonely" & "Buss Me Down", simultaneously reminiscent of a sweaty bashment party and a time the likes of Britney Spears, Aaliyah & Timbaland ruled the airwaves. In 2018 Azúcar would see it’s re-release to include the dark R&B tinged singles “Into Me” & “Sunset Park No.1”. Cruz has gone on to weave a lush and sensual world through invoking Afro-Latin & Caribbean sounds on spanglish cuts like “Make Love To Me” “Ven A Mi” and the Anthony Fantano approved “Chiquita".
2021's "El Sol" and 2022's "DARK CEASER" saw Cruz's sweltering universe expand as his first multi-track projects since Azúcar with soaring hypnotic cuts like "Viridian" & "La Madrugada" (both with co-production from the Bronx's El Joven) and more quick witted lover boy tracks like "Sancocho" & "Pienso En Ti"
