https://www.john-micah.com John-Micah Braswell is a graduate student at the University of Southern California studying collaborative piano with Dr. Alan Smith. He graduated with his B.M. in piano performance from Baylor University in May of 2019. He has also studied organ, harpsichord, voice, percussion, and jazz piano “on the side” over his musical career. Previous piano instructors include Professor Jane Abbott-Kirk, Professor Vergie Amendola, Dr. Caleb Harris, Dr. Mira Mintcheva, Dr. David McArthur, and Nicolette Bischoff. He began playing piano at age 4. John-Micah has been a guest soloist with five symphonies including the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. He served as accompanist, arranger, and composer for four choirs at Baylor University. John-Micah also enjoys actively contributing to communities--both locally and abroad--by regularly producing and directing benefit concerts. John-Micah's journey as an artist has always been an active one. While in Colorado, he was a graduate assistant for Centennial Children’s Chorus and the accompanist for many local musical productions. He was also a guest performer with The Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, the Loveland Orchestra, the Greeley Chamber Orchestra, and the Pikes Peak Philharmonic. Competitive awards include 1st place in the Semper Pro Musica piano competition, offering a solo performance in Carnegie Hall’s famed Weil Recital Hall.
