Unbounded and multidimensional are the closest descriptions of the musical interests and creations of the Swiss-based pianist, composer and producer, Sasha Shlain. Born in the Far East and being a ‘global nomad’ through his life, Sasha has acquired tastes and elements of the music of various cultures and music genres. This variety, ranging from classical music (being trained as a classical piano performer) to Jazz, fusion, ethnic and electronic music, found their embodiment in Sasha’s compositions for stage, theatre, and contemporary ballet performances. His recently recorded productions follow in similar light, including collaborations with artists of different backgrounds. As Sasha experiments with merging unique elements of defined music traditions, one can easily conclude that diversity and complexity are his music signatures.
