Biography

Argentinean rock project Canturbe was created in the late '70s by singer/guitarist Jorge Garacotche, joined by bassist Luis Blanco, guitarist Alejandro Fiori, and drummer Gabriel Pelizzari. The band's self-titled debut album had special guest Charly García on keyboards. Released by Polygram in 1981, that first record was followed by 1983's Bonpland, featuring a particular version of Carlos Gardel's "Soledad." Canturbe issued Clandestino in 1986. After Fernando Bellini replaced Luis Blanco on bass, Canturbe recorded Del Mágico Mundo. They teamed up with Litto Nebbia and María José Cantilo to make En Venta in 1990. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
