MC + Rapper JANSET continually proves her versatility as a writer and lyricist. With a string of solo releases and a few EP’s, she has demonstrated her ability to transcend genres and a fearlessness around trying new sounds from grime and alternative hip-hop to trap and jazz – with her thought-provoking words and powerful flow always stealing the show. Born in Luton and raised in North London by Turkish/Circassian parents who migrated to the UK in the 80s, JANSET developed her writing to incorporate both languages and has amassed supporters in both Turkey and the UK, shooting videos that depict parallels between the different contrasts. Formally 1 half of Stinkahbell (when it was a duo) which heavily contributed to the early days of Dubstep in the UK (2009-2013) this is where JANSET's underground MC'ing journey really started. They gained a lot of attention + toured Europe regularly performing overseas during those years. Janset established her own club night called JANSET&FRIENDS, inviting her friends from the UK scene to play in Istanbul. JANSET has had many international collabs/shows including Aga B, Balkan Beatbox, P Money - previously playing alongside the Grime Symphony Orchestra at Maida Vale Studios. She had a collaboration release w/ Red Bull Records for her single ‘Oh Yes!’ which was released in 2021 which really boosted her audience. She has now started a new venture, and is the first UK artist to be signed to Epidemic Sound.
