Ranging from jazzy, melodic, organic tracks, to 90’s influenced boom-bap beats, to rock-influenced songs, Trav Da Poet’s prophetic, healing message intends to pierce the heart and soul of the listener. Raised between VA, NC, and AL, Trav Da Poet was exposed to the gospel music traditions of African American Baptist and Pentecostal churches, including bombastic choirs and dynamic praise teams. Growing up during Hip-Hop’s golden age, acts like LL Cool J, A Tribe Called Quest, Outkast, 2pac, Nas, Notorious B.I.G., The Geto Boys, Saul Williams, etc. helped shape his affinity for rap, poetry, and influence his style. His ever-growing desire to deliver his own message fueled his involvement in Hip-Hop. Since 2001, Trav Da Poet has been involved in spoken word and Hip-Hop putting together battles, poetry events, being part of street teams, and working as a sound engineer for shows and on albums. He also performed at open mics, placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in various slam competitions, & talent shows. Trav Da Poet has released “Tomorrow’s Not Promised” in June 2021. His 2nd single, “Head To The Sky”, will be released August 2021. Both of these singles are from his yet-to-be-released EP “Issues of Life Prelude”.
