Biography

Emerging from an area traditionally known for Hardcore and Metalcore, VRSA decidedly diverges from that sound. They hypnotically infuse dynamics and odd time signatures into heavily textured riffs, the end result being equally hypnotizing and enticing. VRSA maintains the heavy roots of the culture, while not being confined by them. Staking their claim to an original and creative niche they have carved out for themselves, VRSA look to continue in their perpetual evolution. Drawing from vast topics, the content of VRSA’s songs, invites the listener deeper into the world conveyed by their imagery. "VRSA is a hard band to categorize, although everyone (on the net) calls them some form of doom” “It's almost like alternative doom, or dark metal or something....” ~Heavy Planet "They veer stylistically to either side of the designation, but there’s little question that Connecticut four-piece VRSA are metal at their roots." ~The Obelisk "VRSA is both heavy and melodic. Not quite Inter Arma, but kind of that style of song structure. They fuse their styles and make it work. Their music is like a jogger that suddenly breaks into a sprint for a hundred yards, and then gets back on his original pace." ~The Mighty Decible
