Hailing from Mdantsane, East London in the Eastern Cape Yasirah Bhelz is not just a pretty face, her angelic voice commands attention. Coming from a musical background - her late father sang vocals and played the guitar - Yasirah started singing in church and from a young age her love for music developed. Her sound is a tantalising fusion of Contemporary Pop, Hip Hop and Dance. A born performer, this versatile singer/actress and songwriter has been mesmerising crowds in England, where she has spent most of her time touring. Soon after coming home to South Africa she earned a nomination and performed at the 2013 Metro FM Awards for her collaboration with Revolution and Black Motion for the hit song “Noqatiko”. She has worked with some of the country’s most iconic figures in the music business like Spikiri – where she features on eleven tracks off his King Don Father 2.5 album, Bongo Maffin, TKZee, Boom Shaka, the late Brown Dash and Trademark to mention a few. Her passion doesn’t only lie in music; Yasirah has an impressive resume in theatre. While in England she starred in plays like Carnival Messiah as well as Othello, to mention a few and since coming home she has appeared in numerous short films. In 2017 she landed a leading role on the blockbuster Pop, Lock 'n Roll directed by the legendary Ziggy Jonathan Hoffmeyer. In 2018 she collaborated with Busiswa on the track iLanga as well as Moonchild and DJ Maphorisa for Vuvushka.
