A songwriter at heart, Parisa has never defined her artistry by specific styles or genres and instead, has celebrated her eclectic taste in music through her soulful melodies and lyrically driven writing style. Bypassing genre altogether and writing music that feels good to write, Parisa says “I’ve never liked boxing myself in terms of sound because I feel like that limits the amount of musical inspiration that comes to me and wants to be written & heard.” She first started exploring this idea when writing her debut album Working From Home in 2020 - a collection of 29 songs written and recorded on her bedroom floor in the 29 days of February. An exercise in creativity that Parisa says “unlocked an effortless flow of inspiration” resulting in an honest, intimate and lyrically universal body of work. Balancing life as an actress, songwriter and music artist has lent itself to this creative approach. “Working in theatre you have to have range and be capable of adapting to many characters and styles, but to make it real you have to tap into your own emotions, your own story. I try to apply the same approach to making music and writing songs.” She is now set to release a stream of independent projects throughout 2022 & beyond, further demonstrating her versatility, prowess & passion as an artist.
