Jan-Willem Rozenboom was born in Eindhoven, The Netherlands in 1974 and started piano lessons at the age of five. Subsequently he continued his studies in Tilbury with Professor Alexander Hrisanide, and later at the Royal Conservatorium in The Hague with Rian de Waal. The young master pianist has also worked with the most acknowledged Dutch pop singer Guus Meeuwis for almost 25 years as a band leader, composer and producer. This didn’t keep him from a 11-year deep dive into Bach’s Goldberg-variations, leading up to a solo tour and a classical album release in 2015. His debut album was received very well by the critics. Rozenboom uniquely gaps the bridge between pop and classical music. The multi-platinum composer and gifted musician tours regularly with his self-developed ‘college concerts’, sharing a spoken insight in the classical works he afterwards plays to his young audiences.
