Urhixidur is an electroacoustic experimental/ambient music project by Sami Mikkola, based in Helsinki, Finland. Urhixidur's music is atmospheric and adventurous, getting influence from artists like Biosphere, Ann Annie, Stars Of The Lid, Aphex Twin, Hainbach, etc. First Urhixidur album "Test Flight" was released 2015 (it is not available on Spotify at the moment, but can be found from other streaming services). Urhixidur's latest album "Drifting" is a collection of seven tracks made with small modular synthesizer set-up. Urhixidur has also remixed Germany based experimental music project Mockart's song "The Takeover" that was released on January 2023 as The Takeover - Urhixidur Remix. Sami's other electronic music projects are experimental duo Sado & Maso (with Finnish experimental electronic music artist Mikko Kataja), downtempo/electronica influenced Coneville and techno influenced Piip. Before Urhixidur and other electronic music projects Sami used to play bass in various Finnish rock bands ( Kelpo Pojat, Rehtorit, Pojat, Pahat agentit, Kiiva, etc.) and also played couple of tours across Europe with the legendary humppa-band Eläkeläiset. As Rehtori Mikkola, Sami still occasionally releases punk/rock music. Sami also does sound design for science centre exhibitions and planetarium shows. https://urhixidur.com https://urhixidur.bandcamp.com/ https://www.instagram.com/urhixidurmusic https://www.facebook.com/urhixidur
