Ross Yenerich, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, blends old-school and modern hip-hop with intricate lyrics and storytelling. Inspired by The Alchemist, DJ Premier (and Guru), J Dilla, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Big L, his music features moody, atmospheric beats and compelling narratives. His sound is often compared to Earl Sweatshirt, Boldy James, Roc Marciano, Freddie Gibbs, and Navy Blue, combining evocative wordplay with brooding, immersive production. His upcoming album "Milwaukee Made Me / Wisconsin Went Worldwide" (2024) promises to captivate listeners with its rich, textured beats and introspective themes. Ross’s creative process is deeply personal. He captures spontaneous lines in his phone's notes app and records the sounds of his surroundings using voice memos, from city streets to nature. These raw sounds inspire and shape his music. In the summer of 2024, Ross co-founded the collective Fully Thrifted with MKO Incarnate, Baby Raf, and Trey-yo. With all members having ties to Southeastern Wisconsin, they strive to bring a fresh and diverse sound to the hip-hop scene, driven by their unique influences and shared passion for innovation. Ross's music explores personal and social themes, using poetic and introspective lyrics to delve into complex narratives about human relationships and societal issues. His unique sound combines literary elements and raw emotion, showcasing his ability to create songs that are both sonically compelling and rich in meaning.
