Xela (pronounced Zella) is a soulful, multifaceted singer and songwriter specializing in the areas of neo-soul, R&B, pop and EDM. Described as a ‘sublime and sultry’ vocalist, Xela's catchy melodies reflect a passion for rich jazz inspired harmony and rhythmic groove. Sydney based and New Zealand born and trained, she draws influence from the likes of Kimbra, Nina Simone, Victoria Monet, SIR, Raye, Charlotte Day Wilson and Sabrina Claudio. Since 2021 releasing her first single 'Just Because' Xela has gained a worldwide audience and developed her sound into being uniquely 'Xela', with her debut EP releasing in March 2023 celebrated with a sold out debut headline show. She has collaborated with artists worldwide, top lining for multiple EDM artists while her personal project remains alongside the pop/neo-soul style. Her new track 'Waterfalls' is the first self produced track to come out.
