Blending classical, and pop influences Jim has worked in many different areas of the music industry including film, musical theatre & pop. He was the winner of the London Chamber Orchestra New:Explore Competition, and the Best Original Soundtrack at the Horror Haus Film festival. He regularly works with film composer Hugo De Chaire most recently on The Ghost Trap (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) and provided orchestrations for the Crooked House (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) which was adapted for film by Julian Fellowes. He performs in i said yes, writes songs with pop artist Skylar Fri, plays bass in Heroics, and writes musical theatre in collaboration with lyricist Kit Buchan under the name Buchan & Barne
