Biography

Anna Kuk (1991 in Poland) is a multidisciplinary artist: poet, violinist, writer and composer. Born as a bipalindrome, in the middle of the year, 5 years after her older brother and 5 years before the younger. Her is in art and about the art. Her artistic concepts and works are playing with paradoxes. She works with sound, movement, words and visual arts to express the coexistence of seemingly polarised values: storytelling and silence, sacred and profane, depth and simplicity, self-identity and social dependence. Her big fascination is language and word-related phenomena. As a violinist, she graduated from Karol Szymanowski Music Academy. She was perfecting her music skills at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Anna has taken part in many concerts and international festivals: BBC Proms, Aix- en-Provance Festival, Film Music Festival (e.g. with Hans Zimmer) in Kraków. She has worked under the direction of prominent conductors, including Simon Rattle, Jaap van Zweden, Bernard Haitink, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and Vasily Petrenko. Her album of original compositions and poetry Elle Est Visible had its premiere at Rockefeller Foundation in New York City on 16th January 2024 and European premiere at Chateau Ville d’Avray (France). The music metaphorically represents the process by which her life as a woman begins to be visible to herself and to the others. Anna speaks fluently 5 languages. She is currently living with her husband and cat in Paris.
