Gideon Freudmann has been redefining the role of the cello for over three decades. A pioneer in use of looping and other technology as well as creating new expanded techniques for the cello he's a prolific composer. Gideon has released 24 CDs and played on countless others, he composes music for film and dance and has published a catalog of cello ensembles that are performed throughout the world. Freudmann is from New England where he released several solo songwriter and instrumental albums as well as 3 CDs with Broque a classical crossover duo. Freudmann relocated to the Northwest in 2005. There he co-founded the Portland Cello Project and Caravan Gogh. He also performs live soundtracks for silent films.
