Bringing a unique slice of the Bristol underground dance scene, Xango has a real passion for all things tribal. His DJ sets on the Bristol scene – from Castros, Basement 45 and Dojo to Blue Mountain and Timbuk2 – showcase dark, rumbling bass-lines and infectious grooves, taking clubbers on a real journey from minimal through to techno. As a youngster, Xango’s love for music was evident, and was heavily influenced by the contents of his mum and dad’s extensive record collection – Motown, Northern Soul, Rock, and Electronic being the main sources. Moving from the bedroom to playing regular DJ slots, Xango brought a certain style of tribal tech house to the scene, heavily influenced by Steve Lawler’s Dark Drum series. Other influences include the legendary Danny Tenaglia, Tom Stephan, Danny Howells and Satoshi Tomiie. Having spent 14 years perfecting his craft as a DJ, Xango then turned to production, with original releases on Krafted Records, Whartone Records, Jumpstereo Records, Locker Room Records – and now Vector Space Recordings. Watch this space for news on his upcoming debut on the label.
